Renovating Existing Home Into a B&B – Part 2

Laundry, Bathroom, Small Bedroom, Hallway Reno

The Country Boatshed was our third guest room that was created. We started by lifting the tiles in the laundry to find mixed species hardwood underneath which were sanded and restored. Removal of the laundry doors, window and cabinets came next. A new bifold timber door was added to open up this guest room to the amazing garden and water views. Bedroom and hallway walls were demolished and were replaced with new soundproof gyprock and cornice. Our main down stairs bathroom was closed off from the powder room and opened up from the opposite side to convert this into an ensuites for the Country Boatshed. A full length bath was removed, a toilet added and an up cycled vanity that was restored by ourselves were added to this ensuite. Existing shower had a total makeover and retiled. The double hung timber windows were also sanded right back and restored. The guest room was painted and styled in a nautical but country theme using a pallet of ivory, grey and charcoal. The addition of a single bed was introduced when the demand for that third person is needed.
